Halp!

Post by sam-the-man » March 2nd, 2012, 10:03 pm

Sorry if your getting sick of me posting things about my own server on this website. :( So, as you know, 1.2.3 is out. And I dont know how to update my server. I know that I have to download the latest craftbukkit and replace the old one, but how to I update things like permissionsEX? Because If i download a new one then i'll just have to go through config.txt again wont I? How do I get permissionsEX in 1.2.3??? Thanks -don (I'm on a mac btw)

As far as I'm aware these haven't been updated yet. (kinda the reason why max isn't updated, either)

Lol, i thought i explained what a pain it is to update your server.
You have to let the new mod generate a new config and then manually compare the configs with eachother because in the config of the newest mod there will be added or removed features.
Else you will never know if a feature has been added.
If you want to donate for my server, please press Image. thanks :)

Oh actually ive done it and it was easy! I downloaded the latest craftbukkit.jar and replaced the current one, making sure it had the same name as the old one so start.command would work. Then deleted all the old plugins and downloaded the latest permissionsEX and Essentials plugins and put em in the folder (using the old config.txt so i didnt have to go through it again,) and started my server. Like magic! :D

I thought Max did the checks because he always looks for new features as he said in his post. Wouldn't this prevent you from seeing any new features that were added?
