I'm not sure what to call this

Post by Der_Jakal » February 7th, 2012, 7:44 am

Hey so I came up with a pretty great idea for a train station, and I was hoping to implement it on my own personal rail system on this server. I tested it in single player and it works and looks great, but when I tried to make it on the server I ran into one little problem: pistons can't push cart tracks. They were pushed with no problem in my single player map, and it's essential to how the system works, but for some reason online the pistons don't seem to be capable of pushing the track (it wont even try to extend). so I'm wondering if there's a mod or something that's preventing this from happening, or if I'm just doing something wrong?

nope. I was really looking forward to that capability with that update, but it doesnt work in SMP. I'm not sure why.

I think it might be related to whatever causes rails to be immune to water (you can't knock out rails with water). This is probably an anti-grief measure.

having water not affect redstone would be the most awesome thing ever though

It has been all SMP servers, not just max. I had many thoughts on that issue as well.

Make sure your design is simple and difficult to mess up... cuz if there IS a way to mess it up, they will find it. I think 3 people fell under my lift.

well it's for my own personal railway. but it's a pretty simple interface. I kinda want to show it off cause I'm so proud of it, but until mojang adds track pushing to smp it will remain stuck in my superflat sp world :(
