Since the Halloween update, Minecraft has become extremely resource hungry. Server owners are reporting as much as 2-3x more usage of resources than before, which in turn causes almost every server to lag like crazy.

Unfortunately for me, my connection is poor - a mobile broadband - and before the Halloween update I could just barely play SMP. Sometimes it would lag, but not too much. Problem is, with the lag issues servers now have I can barely log in at all (Disconnected - Took too long to log in), and when i do get in, I usually get disconnected a couple of minutes later. Thus, the game is unfortunately unplayable for me at this time.

Hopefully, Notch will address these problems. Of course, he's taking the next couple of days off, leaving me hanging. Yay. In the meantime, I will keep trying to connect, and hope it's just a random fluke in my connection preventing me from playing. In that case it will get fixed eventually. If it's Notch's fault... well, pigs do fly occasionally.
