Animals gone again

Hi

Why are animals in Dtherriens barn disappearing? I spent several game-days breeding them up, so I could get a pair of my own cows etc, and came back one day to find almost *all* of them gone.

They were already partially missing, and now they are almost completely gone.

Why is this happening?

An admin was probably a bit sloppy with the /butcher command.
You can ask them to spawn them back.

How large is the default range? And is there a thing where you can specify hostile/passive? That might help.

I am not sure, there is little to no documentation about it.

It happened to me today too, I lost "Ermegherd" the pink sheep, who was a gift from pixie sent via minecart, and also all of my chickens were just gone.

I don't think it can be a sloppy /butcher command, the "disappearances" seem too random, it's also not a player griefing... unless they're being awesomely ninja about it.

Two possible theories!:

- An annoying glitch, or some behaviour that we don't yet know about.
- A mod/admin is doing it on purpose. (dun dun duuuunnn!)

Pretty sure it's an annoying glitch, I've lost my entire herd of cows twice now. The first time, Pixie came back and gave me some extras, but after breeding them none of the babies were appearing (very odd) and by the next day only one cow was left (I decided to kill it)

If it is a glitch, then this is currently not solveable (and would probably happen in singleplayer games too)

I have noticed that the buthcer command only affects hostile mobs. no chickens, sheep, cows ... etc. die on that command.

Then maybe a bug, or some same sort of mishap in the code etc..?

Might be. I have a cat and it shows up randomly. In only certain areas it is around.
