Prank Wars

[FallenTuesday]

If any of you have seen Etho, Vintage Beef, BdoubleO, Guude, or others that play on the mindcrack server they do a prank wars.
We have started this on the server where we prank each other in various ways

Rules:
No Fire
No TNT
No holes leading to lava/fire/void
No mob spawning eggs (natural chicken eggs are fine)
No stealing
No mindless destuction
No pranking people not involved in prank wars
No spawning anything for a prank (admins)
No rollback to clean up a prank
No protection signs used in a prank
No cactus used in a trap (one that would kill the player)
Those not involved in prank wars should not give certain players/teams advantages
You must leave a sign stating your name and your team at any prank you do
Follow the basic rules of the maxloader server

Well this is just to a certain degree, since obviously pranking could equate to griefing. I think in this case griefing just means mindless destruction of blocks/projects.

Some stuff that I propose to be added:

Proposed rules:

Yes, but you have to be able and willing to undo it when someone is not amused with the prank.

I'm just thinking that the majority of people on this server have enough common sense to NOT say that.

If you don't want to be involved in prank wars then it is against the rules to prank you guys anyways, so protected or not BOTRA is safe.

Put it this way... Pranks come close to Griefs, except that the event participants agree to certain levels of modifications to their areas. This is similar to it being against the rules to randomly bash someone's skull in with a diamond sword... unless you both have agreed to the battle. We'll alwayse be a little worried that someone is going to unwittingly get caught up in excessive pranks or collateral damage might happen, but you guys can keep that to a minimum and that is why those rules are in place... to prevent DEADLY pranks that might bring someone from lvl 30 to lvl 6.

I'm sure you guys can pull it off without any real trouble. Prank away! I'm going to obstain personalLy (for now at least) being that I share a home with Juggle and I'd need HIS permission to put our base in danger. Hense the stopping of the Dreads VS Pest thing that was brewing, I failed to realize that Juggle might set off ANY trap meant for me with no idea one might be there or why. Not fair to Juggle to be hit for MY actions, so I cant hit anyone else. (I also skrewed up some of Dreads stuff in the process of uncoverering wtf had happened) :/

Well prank wars are a conscious decision, so you have to remember that by signing up for it in the first place, you have put yourself under the mercy of all prankers on the server. (And that it is largely irreversible as well)

Officially that person needs to get banned then, because you made clear you didn't want to get pranked.

We had this problem when people shared vaults. People said they would be fine with it and everyone who they wanted to know the warp did however people got tempted and started griefing inside the vaults and stealing stuff, so the first thing i got when i logged on was "someone filled my vault with cobble, fix it sooneey" and "someone stole my diamond hoe and 23 dirts, fix it sooneey".

This looks fun on paper however someone will take it too far and admins be "told" by people to fix their messes.

I'll just sit back and not join in, if anyone makes a mess try dealing it the old fashioned way and between yourselves before getting admins to rollback damage.

So apparently I never saw this. Sorry everyone, yes I did some very minor stuff until he noticed me, and yes, prank wars is probably just asking for trouble now. I guess i'll remain in the prank wars until they are officially discontinued, but i can say now that this should be an all or nothing event (so you don't hit people who aren't in) and right now, many people do not wish to be included.
