I'm getting full packet loss at under one minuit in.

Edit: I've messed with the minecraft install (not at fault) and several java builds (doesnt seem to be the problem either). I started altering my network adapter settings to drop flow control and such and that doesnt seem to solve the problem either.

Basicly, after about 10-30 seconds, the server will no longer accept my input. I can continue to walk about for abit and it may keep some of my input but really, I've got a read timeout and it's going to tell me in about 20 seconds when it fully crashes. I cant play the game from here. I can look for an alternate network adaptor to give it a try but it didnt work on my wife's computer either so that is unlikely to succeed. Nothing I've tried can keep me on the server for more then a minuit.

Edit: Edit: The problem is not on my end, I can connect to any other server just fine. Ace's server runs normaly.

Hmm appears the problem has spread. (Hoping that it isn't something that is my fault, since it started with me.) Well I wonder whats wrong with the server. :(

SO: How many others are still haveing problems connecting? I'd like to narrow down the culprit (as I currently blame the connection between my ISP and Max's). At current, I dont think I can play untill Max changes something with the server.

My only idea to solve so far is to try to proxy around my ISP connection issue. I havent used a proxy in ages though. Juggle lives in my area and his inferior DSL connection has no problems with the server, so my idea is to proxy onto an ISP that will also have no issues with Max's ISP and piggyback their connection for the bulk of the overseas datastream. Though this SHOULD be slower then a direct connection... as their seems to be some issue somewhere between Charter's network and Max's ISP network that does not exist between Juggle's ISP and Max's, that MAY work to bypass the problem and get a playable connection.

I'll look it up in due course, but I know some of you have recent experience with proxy servers so you could save me some time by sending me the 411 on a working proxy. Best if you hop on one and use it to play on maxloader for about 5 minuits to show that whatever problem I'm haveing is not mirrored in that proxy's connection.

Still broken for me. I logged on a little while ago. Lasted about one minute before I crashed.

Damn these server problems to The Nether, Mid's room, Hell, and all other places that horrid souls dwell. :x

I've been playing for a while and I've noticed a few things. I've been timing out quite frequently, but when I logged on to dynamap it somehow kept my connection stronger. I still had lag issues but I didn't time out again for the rest of the day... until now, when my dynamap crashed.

I recommend using a clean .minecraft folder if you are having issues.

I think it might actually be a problem with minecraft in general. I deleted my .minecraft folder to download a new clean one but I'm still having problems, even on my own server.
The problems I'm getting:
1. I get timed out/ dropped from the server often.
2. Sometimes polling the server comes back with "Can't reach server" or "Communication Error" even when my internet is working just fine.
3. When I am connected I sometimes get lag issues where blocks I place disappear and come back 5 minutes later.
The soap, pick it up.

Dont forget that it can be a problem with Java. Make sure you are running the correct and updated version or if you are, try a downgraded version

And run 64 bit java if your OS is 64 bit, this is very VERY important for a stable minecraft.
If not sure if running 32 or 64 bit os check this: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/21726/ho ... s-answers/

Oh i was having a few problems, i'll just list them

  • 1; Lags every now and then
2; The server booting system seems a bit messed every now and then
3; I think that none of this is your fault, or ours, i think its a problem with the minecraft code itself, and bukkit.

Also, pest where do I find out which version of java I need? I found this site to tell me what version I have: http://javatester.org/version.html
but I'm not sure what version is "correct and updated"

about point 2: the announcements are just from a macro program that 'types' shit in the console window and then at the last 'bai' sends a stop command.
After that it runs a reboot command to reboot the computer.
Then the computer starts up and when in windows there is a shortcut to the minecraft server thing in the startup folder which just starts it again.

nothing fancy, but it works.
