Also, it's not possible because snow blocks aren't in 1.8, but are in 1.9.

First off, we wouldn't do it with iron

Also, I was thiniking of doing it in 1.9, not 1.8.

if you do it dont scale it down lol its prob 128 blocks high so good luck digging to bedrock

2 snow blocks = infinite snow.

I don't think it's that hard to find 8 snowballs on our current server. Obviously, you will also need a pumpkin and a ton of shovels.

can't the snow tracks be dug with a shovel to give you snowballs?

Exactly, Jakal. Then, you can do multiple things such as use SW rule to get snow in a corner that the golem isn't standing on, or you could just push it with glass + sticky piston and then harvest the snow under its feet. The faster you spam the mouse button, the more snow you get (and the faster you break your shovel lol)
