Just in case you didn't read the shoutbox yet, DO NOT UPDATE MINECRAFT.
As usual the server updates 1-2 weeks after updates (dependant on mods)
And no, im not running it without mods.

Its possible to downgrade!
here is a link to the tutorial:

But you need the old minecraft files first though. (i think someone will upload these soon enough)

Mmm! Might give that downgrade a try!
Previous atempts at using the 'no not upgrade' launcher don't work on this PC, prolly a PC reason more then a Minecraft one. Managed a good couple days before I had to close minecraft X3

*Edit*

My god, it actually worked. I guess they changed something in the launcher, too o_o

For some reason, the standard launcher download lacks a file extention (Mac/international reasoning?) but the alternate one has the .exe file extention required. P.S. If you turn on "Show file extentions" in the folder options then you can ADD the .exe file extention and the file works perfectly.

lol, he explained this to all of us for 1.5, and 1.6, and probably quite a few before that. I'm wondering if a permanent post is in order that says "no, I'll update the server when there's a bukkit build available that's compatible with all the mods we want. This applies to EVERY update."

I think there probably should be a very obvious notification somewhere on the front page, informing us what version the server is running. Also a basic FAQ on what to do if you need to roll back would be handy. It's just an issue for newcomers really, regulars will know to backup .jar files and not update immediately... but the newcomers will probably already be up to date when they request a whitelist. And if their first experience of the lovely Maxloader's server is "Oh, I can't actually play in it"... then that's just not good, not good at all.

Personally, I checked the shoutbox... and had to scroll down to see Gaz yelling not to update. But since then more random jibberish has been added to it and you certainly can't blame a newcomer for missing it, in amongst the "check out my little pony stuff" and "toy story 2 was ok" messages :ugeek:

I'm not too sure about all these features.

Can we downgrade to 1.2?

BTW, anybody running mac or linux it's SUPER easy to run multiple versions. I haven't looked for a tutorial, but if you know anything about symbolic links you can just make multiple copies of your .minecraft folder and name them other things like .minecraft16 and .minecraft17 Then just create a symbolic link to that folder called .minecraft and the launcher will play that version.

I'm sure there are easier ways to do this as well, this is fastest for me.
