The one and main thing is to keep good track of your pokemons' training succes. Also, list down everything you want your pikachu to have achieved by the end of training program.
And section the training according your listings to make everything alot easier. It has been proven that a goal can be achieved when taking it into smaller bits.

You should also make sure he has lots of healthy training food. (vitamins, proteins... all that kinds of stuff that everyone keeps telling is good)

A good relation to your pokeball friend should not be forgotten either. Go bowling, golfing, and do all kinds of activities to bond with your partner and get to know him better.

hope this is of any help. I have no experience on working as a personal trainer, but this is something i would probably do if i were to do such thing.
