Necropolis
Necropolis (roughly translated: city of the dead) is... similur to a town, but more like a hotel. There are afew suprises in there for the exceptionaly clever (IE: gaining enterance to the Necopolis farms is not an easy task, and you may die SEVERAL times prior to gaining entery). I'll be building the majority of future projects within it's reach includeing the Asylum and a gameing/entertainment area. The majority of these projects fall under the "clever use of circuits" catigory. I may provide perminant lodgeings within the necropolis houseing section, but you will be limited in the amount of customization you can perform... limiting the usufullness of such houseing. The famed elevator is in the farm, There is likely to be a pair of mirrored lifts (multi-floor ones!) at the houseing district. There IS a pool at the houseing section... but there is no lifeguard on duty so swim at your own risk alsoitisfilledwithlava ANYWAY, the Necropolis will not take too long to finish up, and should be rather amuseing.
Many sections are already completed, but require severe readjusting due to unforseen consequenses of the 1.8 update. mainly, the depth fog makeing the entire area unviewable and deadly dangerous, and Endermen griefing as a result of unchecked spawning (due to depth fog) caused moderate to severe damage. Also, some sections seem to be spawning grounds for slimes. The entire location is being lifted to compensate and the unlightable portions will undergo "enderproofing". Necropolis will not be open to the public for awhile yet, it's opening will be heralded by it's Minecart autostation surfaceing in public view.
NOTE: Necropolis is NOT intended to be a town. The houseing section is being added more for cosmetic reasons then an income source and selling perminatly reserved rooms is more for the convienence of it's patrons and visiters. As such, there is no mayor... only THE SUPREME OVERLORD PESTILENCEMAGE. I will, however, provide townlike duties such as a rules board near the enterance.
Once the overworld is completed, I will **ATTEMPT** to create a nether side outpost. Nothing majestic, but should house a fairly safe location with potential netherfarms and the like. Holding off for the nether update to be included before this section is addressed though.

Re: Necropolis
Necropolis lacks any usefull facilities at the molment (unless you can figure out how to access the farm), but is opperational and accessable.
Their are 2 ways to get to necropolis:
1: The boat dock is a lighthouse island past the twin towers SE of spawn. It has access down to necropolis through it's substructure. The drydocks enter directly to the substructure with necropolis access in the center or there is a trapdoor access to the substructure in the lighthouse. *Special note, If you use the cart to get UP from necropolis to the boatdock, leave the cart there! just get out and the plate that opens the door will push the cart back down for the next user*
2: There is a railway that goes to necropolis. It is just off the main railway south from spawn. You'll want to bring your own cart (and keep it with you) as I've opted agenst the auto cart system for the railway. There will be a netherbrick walkway leading to a dragon head pokeing through a small lava fissure, there is a button that will lift a walkway into to mouth of the dragon (dont waste time on the walkway, it stays up for about 3 seconds). Venture into the throat of the beast to find a railway station that will take you all the way to Necropolis.

Re: Necropolis
The farms are essentialy finished... Though you need to discover how to get in. There is a farm for about every damn thing that CAN be farmed.
For those of you who have found the enteryway, Here is the update on the farm status.
Still working on a zombie pigman farm (ooh, the farm extends into the nether realm). <-- Gold farm
The netherwart farm is to be next to the pigman farm, so it's not in yet. I might add a small one back into the enteryway again.
The Squid farm could has afew intake veins that are not finished... but I dont care as they will soon be virtualy obsolite because...
The wool and colored wool farm is done, but needs 1.1 update to be functional (dependant on sheep regrowing wool)
The animal farms... well they are glitchy as hell and the mobs occasionaly go through solid walls to excape the chamber. I'll simplify it even further to make this less hassle.
The snow farm doesnt work (not sure why) so it is now in the birch farm. I left the original one there for cosmetic reasons.
The railway to the spawner farms and xp farm has been removed. You can access those farms via the nether railway.
The door where the spawner railway WAS now leads only to the abandoned mineshaft that is used for my own personal mineing, leave it be.
As such, the mechinism controling that door has changed... not enough to keep you out if you knew where it was though. (3 became 5)
The slime farm sucks as the code for slime spawning changed from lvl 0-16 to any level below 40. it's a friggin worthless farm.
The squid farm sucks as the squid wont really manuver into the veins without surface traffic. And I dont really head up there often.
AS for the non-farm Necropolis:
Economy suits are mostly furnished
Updated the central tower to make is slightly less boreing
Bathrooms on economy level are finished
Auto fireplace installed on the economy level lobby
Stairway finished, replaced one of the lifts
That lift is nearly done... I'll try to finish that one up.
The portal to the nether is in, but it goes nowhere yet. It may be moved again before I build as the skelly apparently looks like an ant from the rear.
DANGER STATUS:
I still see the occasional mob showing up. VERY rare, but that just means you'll be off guard when it happens to be a creeper. STAY ALERT.
As such, try not to AFK near the more complex circuitry. I dont want my circuits damaged should you get blown to bits... I dont care about your life, just my circuits.
We DO get slimes ANYWHERE as the code for their spawning changed from lvls 0-16 to any level below 40 and they can spawn in any light level. Man up you sissies!

pest, I'm considering purchasing a summer home in your area for convenience during my farm trips. do you have prices posted for the different tiered suites yet?

Re: Necropolis
I changed the style of the bathrooms on the economy suites from cobble to stonebrick. I cheesed the mossy/cracked stonebrick as the nearest stronghold seems to be somewhere in botra quest reserve and I cant get a damned ender eye to point at any other direction. I think it looks better then the cobble/mossycobble.
I finished decorateing the Economy suites, Necropolis isnt really ment to be a town, but if you want to purchase the room that would be fine as their are plenty of them.
I imagine it would be used mostly as a stageing point for those who know where the farms are, so I made sure the decor included 4 large chests, and 3 brewing stands.
Their are 8 Economy suites, all on the first floor. Odd numbers are corner rooms, even are the mid rooms.
We'll call this a "soft opening", and I'll sell you any economy room for:
1 diamond + 9 Iron Blocks
If iron is in short supply, I currently accept 1 stack of redstone in place of 1 iron block... so if you need to keep all your iron, 1 diamond + 9 stacks redstone.

Re: Necropolis
Yeah I got that it wasn't supposed to be a town. that's why I said your 'area'. But I'd still like to buy one if you're sure you want to sell it. I'm sure I can find enough diamond and iron/redstone to pay for it.
The soap, pick it up.

Re: Necropolis
Finished the shopping district.
Includes a brewing shop,
a farmers market (both bairly stocked).
ENCHANTMENT STORE: Sell off you unwanted enchanted tools/bows/weapons. Open to all, and can be stocked by all. Not alot in there yet, but some usefull stuff for very cheap (bairly above the cost of the unenchanted item)
RECORD STORE: Seems we have access to all but one of the records now, and I've ensured that YOU have access. Selling records for 1200 each (slightly above the /sell price... no, you cant /sell the new ones yet).
Stores are located down the stairways in necropolis center. One is near the enterance, the record store is near the Necropolis sign opposite the enterance

Re: Necropolis
lol. You wont need any items to get in. In fact, I HIGHLY recommend storeing any valuable in one of the rooms while seeking the farm. I'll post the "hints" here, but they are quite obscure.
you do NOT break any blocks to get in.
If you die, you are probably pritty close to the solution.
There are afew other secret doors within the necropolis area:
1: Easter egg peeping tom room
2: Access to the giant abandoned mineshaft area (where much of the funding for necropolis was extracted from)
3: Access to the obsidian tower that is MY home within necropolis.
These 3 secret doors were not really designed to be uncovered, with the possable exception of the egg.
Only the perverted and A.C. would find the easter egg. (actualy, this one DOES require placeing a lever)
Only the persistant and curiously observant would find the mine.
Only the perserveringly thourough would find the tower without help.
NONE of these require PLACEMENT of any blocks, and they are not as complex or involved as the farm enterance.

I'll also mention that signs are rather important, they hold very obscure referances as to the proper procedure.Pestilencemage: Your not planning on griefing it are you?

Re: Necropolis
Your knack for spotting hidden buttons should come in handy, but the farm will be both more and less complex. Where the tower enterance is simply hidden, the farm is more...scope_ion wrote:Already found your house entrance
Well... Ancient romans created a device where if you lit a fire on this pedistal, a doorway would open. The fire would heat water hidden on the sides and it would go through a pipe and cool, filling a sub basin that would then weigh enough to pull open the doors and reveal a statue of their god behind it. I didnt recreate this, and it is not a clue as to how my device works, it is just an example of how some unrelated activity can be vital to the desired ends you wish to accomplish due to unseen complex devices. The CONCEPT of that is what the door involves.
If you are *FULL OF $#!+*, you'll die getting in.

Re: Necropolis
Tell ya what, On the second floor of the residental district is a bathroom. enterance to farm is in the MENS room.
in the handicaped stall, not the working urinal, is the POOPMASTER 5000.
What you need to do is, throw something in the toilet and flush it down. DONT fall in the toilet.
wait afew seconds (a good poop takes abit) and get on the toilet tank.
you will see a button up there.
Push the button and the wall will open briefly and sound the zelda secret song.
make it past the wall and you are in. whatever you flushed will be retreavable as you enter.
That door out locked when you pushed the button, getting the item you flushed will open it back up. as alwayse, there is a button to open it on the inside.
There is a farm for pritty much everything that CAN be farmed in there.
if you FAIL to flush something down the toilet, you will die when you push that button.
the door locks, and it will instead reliece lava into the room, flooding it with you trapped inside.
it will destroy all you brought with you and take awhile to disapate.
Enjoy the farm, I can explain all the parts later. There is a working piston elevator there for ya.
The easter egg involves the nearby security guard. Place a lever to make him anitomicly correct. There should be a lever inside the handycap stall chest.
When you switch that lever, the wall should briefly open to let you in, where you have a peeping hole into the ladies bathroom and a peep spot through the ladies toilet.
getting out is about as tricky as getting in, I didnt really optomize that egg spot.
The obsidian tower is accessed from the enchanted goods store. There is a button in the top corner area that opens a section of wall at the base of the stairs to the shops.
be quick, as I doubt I timed much grace period there.
There is an iron door that leads into the tower in there.
The abandoned mine enterance is in the enterance to necropolis from the dock/lighthouse.
go abit up the stairway, and there is a button there.
hit that button... I think it was 5 times in a row.
that will open the wall briefly that is at the bottom of those stairs.
I mined the bajesus out of that mineshaft, so it will be slim pickings and not really worth ventureing inside anymore, but the device itself was amuseing to make.
