The new map and the ark

I just want to point out to everyone who's screaming about "hours of work" that they're talking about minecraft, which is a game, which means they should be saying "hours of play". which really is my whole point. I don't know about you guys but I build stuff in minecraft because it's fun to build stuff in minecraft. usually when it's done I say "oh cool it's done" and I move on and forget about it. On this current map I've build a number of nice houses, a giant pumpkin, and a huge pvp ctf arena (I didn't really build that one, it was mostly sooneey and max). Did they take a long time to build? yes, but I enjoyed every moment of building them or else I wouldn't have done it. Do I want to blow them up or see them burn? No, well... maybe, but that's why I'll be downloading the file when Max makes it available, so I can do it on singleplayer.
Basically what I'm saying is our current map is a plate full of stale cookies, and Max has a whole pan full of fresh cookies (new map) in the oven and he's just waiting till they're done to serve them to us, but instead of being excited about fresh cookies all I'm hearing is a bunch of crying about how we don't get to keep our stale cookies and have the fresh cookies too. YOU'RE ALL GOING TO SPOIL YOUR APPETITE BEFORE DINNER! (by that I mean the amount of memory and time it would take to move everything from the old map to the new map and still have a new map just isn't plausible.)

XD The map would be saved. I thought if the admins just put a bunch tnt in the towns to make craters it would be fun. Everyone is saying an apocolpyse is ending the old map. So let's have a real one. Otherwise moving to the new map isn't as interesting.

If you don't like the tnt idea why not spawn a bunch of mobs at spawn and have an epic battle with everyone there. Once everyone dies once the admins do /butcher and we move to the new map. I just think we should have an apocolpyse event before the new map.

Okay, let's put this a different way, since some of us kind of like this map.

Say, your house. You are moving. All your stuff is in there. All of your favorite stuff. Maybe even your dog. Some idiot blows up your house before you leave. And your dog.

OR

In your house, you are getting ready to move. Suddenly, a bunch of random guys with machine guns run in, and kill everyone and everything. Once again, including your dog.
