Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
Thats fine. :) We can treat my model as a first draft. Looking forward to starting the project. :D
by the way, If you use the tapemeasure tool, you can see how many blocks the different parts of the castle will use. Im using the metric system, and for simplicitys sake, 1meter equals 1 minecraft ...

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
ah, sorry, forgot to tell you. I already uploaded it to the database, but I cant seem to be able to download it myself... Might be something wrong, but I can't understand what, my sketchup crashes everytime I try to import it myself. You can still try tho. Go to File -> 3D warehouse -> get model ...

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
Thanks GeeDave! That made it all worth it. :D
Great work Pixie! I love seeing my work in real minecraft. :P
I would definetly want your help come Opal, for several reasons:
1: This started as a one man project, but as the scale grew, so did the need for manpower.

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
Thanks, pixie. :D
Did some more work today, but the going is slow. :P I decided to move one of the outer walls to make room for a building, and added some arches for the pathway to the entrance.

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
I know exactly what you mean.
Problem was, when I was building in sketchup, I didnt see how big it was actually becoming. It wasnt until Pixie posted his work that I could see how warped my sense of proportions was. the new castle is still big tho, from sea level and 64 up to the top.

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
Well, that took a long time. I decided to scrap the keep and main hall buidings, and go for something more... detailed. Please let me know what you think. I still got the old files, so I havent deleted anything. :P

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
Yeah, but not only that. The design in itself is flawed, and rushed from my side
I'll post a new screen from sketchup probably later today. Since youre second builder now, I want to hear your opinion. Constructive critic is greatly appreciated.

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
I got it to work.
Man, that made things easier. Alas, after I built the main hall (the buiding with the horsesoe ceiling and the barn like structure next to it) I realised how ugly it was, so i'm back in sketchup trying to build a different main hall.

Re: Da Town!
you should probably base the name off the epic terrain.

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
40 chests is doable, given enough time.
But i dont think we can buy/ trade, since we will probably need all the materials and resources we can find for the castle, decorating and stuff.
World edit huh? Sounds great!
Does it work on single player as well, or do you have to use a server?

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
actually, thats really great. :) I wanted this to become sort of a long term project on the new map. The scale youre using might be a tad larger than whats intended tho. I noticed because your turret by the bridge use two more blocks for each side.
Now... How the hell can you work so fast? :P is ...

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
I gotta say, Im simply awestruck by your work Pixie. A shame we couldnt get the server to work, because I would love to walk around on that one. :) Also, could you give me a rough estimation of how many resources youve used? It will be good to know how big a quarry I'll need. :P

Re: Interstate
as far as I can tell, EATS is something like a waterroad? sorry if im wrong. Anyway, even though we don't want a road leading to nowhere, I'm hoping we can have a comprehensible road system which leads to every major construction in opal. Since warps are gone, it should be easier to travel using ...

Sweet! I havent checked for information regarding 1.9, so I might be asking a slightly noobish question. Where did this fight occur? I dont recognize the environment.

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
Yeah, im not nearly creative enough.
In my defence, however, theres not much in the castle from the Fable one. I kinda stopped taking inspiration from that one after a while, Especially since the image I was using only showed the front side.

Re: The new map and the ark
I would really enjoy the mineshafts, but I doubt the strongholds will offer all the players some excitement, considering that they will be so rare to find. (they are rare still, yes? Despite the fact that the spawn limit was dropped?)

Re: The new map and the ark
I can sorta understand the feeling if someone has mined forever for a new project, (like 20 chests of resources or something) and then get the bomb dropped: Were moving ppl! you can only take four chest worth of stuff. kthxbai! :P
But are there really that many players who have more stuff they ...

Re: Ravenhold (opal project)
Ravnen, as probably most of you know, means Raven in norwegian. Since were all international here, i've elected to translate the name for the castle/town. it just sounds better, is all. ;)

Ravenhold (opal project)
Since i got back, and the new map is coming soon, i'm planning to finally create something worthwile. Ravenhold will be a castle, i'm hoping to find a good location, prefereably a steep mountain of some sort. I will probably build the castle myself, and when that is done, i'll expand the domain and ...

I wouldnt mind a couple of the towns being transferred, as long as it doesent include all of them. right now there are too many. XD One of hte things I am looking forward to in the new map is the fact that people can start fresh with new projects and new towns.

took too long to log in?
I was trying to log in this morning, but I couldnt get in. Everytime I tried, it would take ages, and end with the message "took too long to log in". My internet is fine, and I was playing on the server yesterday, no problems. Server status is listed as fine, and I tried rebooting the client several ...
