I figured out on which dates and which versions all the maps ran and updated this post.

I added a couple of old maps that where in my deactivated onedrive. Also I added Quartz, which was not uploaded before.
I believe Quartz is the last map we played on and we never made it to Ruby or Sapphire right? correct me if i'm wrong.

It is bit slow, it is taking 1-2 seconds to actions sent across like destroying a block or punching a mob.

It is not unplayable however you can run around creepers without worrying about them which is a cheeky bug abuse.

Sooneey are you sure? when did you test this? because i migrated it back ...

Well i migrated back again, and this time not virtualized so it should perform better than ever...

Thing is, my internet connection speed is faster than before.
That is just plain ruled out as lag-causing (generally the connection between the US continent and the EU has about 150ms minimum)

About the RAM, it a minecraft server as OS so i wouldn't worry about that really.

So i moved the server to another computer.

I updated the specs in the rules section:

Hit F3 you will see compass directions (North, East, South, West). Just say in which direction to take off from the spawn village.
Also, should we preserve the spawner in this dungeon? Might be nice to put glass around it or something to laugh at the zombies

So i heard that some people where planning to make a horse racing track?
With a gladiator arena in the middle of it?

Are the rumours true?

About OP's i am still thinking.

I have put you back on the list.
connect to mc.maxloader.nl to play.

The server may appear offline but when you try to connect it will wake up (this takes about 30 sec)
Close your minecraft after you make a connection attempt, then start it again and wait for the server to come online.

I have decided.

I am not stopping the server yet.

When the horses update hits i will put the server in 100% vanilla mode.
This has pros and cons:

pros:
- Faster and more stable server
- no more hassle with outdated bukkit and/or bukkit mods
- always the newest minecraft version
- for me ...

What i am thinking, when making a new server on the next minecraft version (the horses update).
Keeping it 100% vanilla for a while (no bukkit at all) for keeping a real minecraft feel.
Remove op rights for everyone (including myself).

I'm just not feeling the current map. I still think we need to spice it up somehow with team play. For me the sleep mode when the new map started was a big factor. Plus I was away for 4 months in the French alps with no ...

Energy, yes.
And in particular this iron golem farm at the spawn causes alot of CPU time and lag.

We all know it, the server is dying.
Main to the fact that there are very little active players on it.
I wanted to make a poll to ask you guys if i should stop with the server or not.

Are there consumer versions available yet?
I heard it was for devs only at the moment.
