Player slots: 30
Location: the Netherlands (http://maps.google.nl/maps?ie=UTF8&ll=52.053381,4.475255&spn=0.001384,0.004128&t=h&z=19)
OS: MineOS Turnkey (http://codeemo.com/)
CPU: Intel Atom 1.6 Ghz (Asrock Ion 330 http://www.asrock.com/nettop/overview.a ... =ION%20330)

Re: --==New Server==--

I jumped on for a while last night and it certainly wasn't unplayable but it was pretty laggy at all times. Day/night cycles would last a lot longer because of this, mobs were a bit "derpy" in the sense that they'd walk toward you, stop, walk toward you, stop again... and repeat. Cooking in furnaces also inherits the slowness, and probably the most annoying is general mining or building... you'd destroy a block, then have to wait 2 or 3 seconds for it to actually be removed, it didn't happen all the time, I'd guess at every 8 blocks destroyed, one would stick around for a while.

I'd heard that MC servers needed an ideal minimum of 4GB of RAM? Or maybe that was for Tekkit?

Edit
Just looking at my ping on the server select screen and refreshing the results, for the Maxloader server it appears to jump around quite a lot, ranging anywhere from 150ms to about 1300ms. To put that in context, for other servers in the list it ranges from about 150ms to 300ms.

DOUBLE EDIT
Been playing again today for 10 minutes or so, seems a lot better than last night.

Re: --==New Server==--

Thing is, my internet connection speed is faster than before.
That is just plain ruled out as lag-causing (generally the connection between the US continent and the EU has about 150ms minimum)

About the RAM, it a minecraft server as OS so i wouldn't worry about that really.

Re: --==New Server==--

It is bit slow, it is taking 1-2 seconds to actions sent across like destroying a block or punching a mob.

It is not unplayable however you can run around creepers without worrying about them which is a cheeky bug abuse.
